The Military Payment Deferral is available to military veterans, their dependents, and their spouses who are eligible for and awaiting payment from a military benefit. The Military Payment Deferral will delay the first payment plan installment due date until October 25th for the fall semester, March 25th for the spring semester, and July 25th for the summer semester. The balance after 60 days will be paid in two payments. The first payment is 50% of the balance. The final payment is the remainder of the balance. *Note: This timeline varies for Texas Tech University Online students. Payment due date deferral will be the lesser of either 60 days or the last day of the semester.

There is no enrollment fee associated with enrollment into the Military Payment Deferral, and all Hazlewood and VA benefit applications submitted through the Military Benefits Application Portal will be automatically enrolled into the Military Payment Deferral.
However, students utilizing other military benefits must submit the Military Payment Deferral Request form each semester to enroll into the benefit.
