The Military Payment Deferral is available to military veterans, their dependents, and their spouses who are eligible for and awaiting payment from a military benefit. The Military Payment Deferral will delay the first payment due date as follows:
Fall: October 25th for the fall semester
Spring: March 25th for the spring semester
Summer: July 25th for the summer semester.
The balance after 60 days will be paid in two installments. The first payment will be 50% of the balance, and the final payment will cover the remaining balance.
Please note that summer terms have only one installment, and the entire balance is due in a single payment.
*Note: This timeline varies for Texas Tech University Online students. Payment due date deferral will be the least of either 60 days or the last day of the semester.
There is no enrollment fee associated with enrollment into the Military Payment Deferral.
Hazlewood and VA benefit applications submitted through the MVP Forms Portal will be automatically enrolled into the Military Payment Deferral.
However, students utilizing other military benefits must submit the Military Payment Deferral Request form each semester to enroll into the benefit.
Student Business Services will accept Military Payment Deferral request forms:
- The form for Fall is available for enrollment beginning May 1st
- The form for Spring is available for enrollment beginning November 1st
- The form for Summer is available for enrollment beginning April 1st
MILITARY PAYMENT DEFERRAL REQUEST
