Other Prepaid Plans Accepted by Student Business Services
Texas Tech University accepts certain out-of-state prepaid tuition plans to pay eligible charges on a student’s account. If you intend to use a prepaid plan from a state other than Texas, required documentation must be submitted in advance. Student Business Services cannot apply payments without the items listed below.
Required Documentation
To use an out-of-state prepaid plan, students must submit both of the following documents:
- Third Party Agreement Form
A completed and signed Third Party Agreement form authorizing the prepaid plan to pay charges on the student’s behalf.
- Prepaid Plan Benefit Letter
A benefit letter issued by the prepaid plan administrator. The letter must:
- Be on official plan letterhead dated no earlier than 6 months prior to the term
- State the payment rate (per credit hour or per term)
- Show remaining benefits available under the plan
- Include any restrictions or conditions that affect payment
Benefit letters must be requested directly from the prepaid plan provider. Student Business Services cannot obtain this information on the student’s behalf.
Accepted Out-of-State Prepaid Plans
Student Business Services currently accepts the following prepaid tuition plans:
- College Illinois!® 529 Prepaid Tuition Program
- Florida Prepaid College Plan
- Kentucky Affordable Prepaid Tuition (KAPT)
- Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Savings Program (MPACT)
- Nevada Prepaid Tuition Program
- Alabama Prepaid Affordable College Tuition Program (PACT)
Submission Deadlines
Send all documentation to Student Business Services at least 10 days before the term due date.
Documents submitted after the deadline may not be processed for the intended term.
How to Submit Documents
Forms and benefit letters may be submitted through the Student Business Services portal, uploaded to the student’s account, or delivered in person to the Student Business Services office.
Third Party Sponsor Agreement
